After a brief spell with Wealdstone I signed for Wimbledon FC manager Dave Bassett. I made my league debut appearance in November 1986 against Nottingham Forest. The following week I took great delight in scoring the winning goal against Manchester United.
In 1988 I helped to defeat the mighty Liverpool at Wembley and picked up The F.A Cup and a winner's medal. I remember this being one of the biggest ever Cup Final upset of resent times.
The following year a transferred to Leeds United managed by Howard Wilkinson for the sum of £650,000. I helped them to promotion from to old second division to the first division, in my only season at the club.
In 1990 I moved to Dave Bassett's Sheffield United for £700,000 where I spent another year.
In 1991 I signed for Chelsea managed by Ian Porterfield for £575,000 it was good to be back in London.
A few games into the 1992-93 season for Chelsea, I found myself on the move again, back to Wimbledon for £640,000. I played around 250 league games for the Don's and hold Wimbledon close to my heart. I have since gone on to win nine caps for Wales, captaining the side against Holland.
In March of 98 I signed for Queens Park Rangers as player/coach for £500,000. Didn't play much for QPR because my sight where becoming focused on a new career move that was to be acting.
